About Us

Øy translates to island in Norwegian and is a family-run clothing brand. Established in 2018 by Norwegian sisters Margrethe and Solveig Jacobsen Rosvoll, Øy Atelier is based in Bali, Indonesia.

With love for artisanal crafts, Øy tells the story of Scandinavian design traditions and a creative way of living.

The story of Øy began early in the sister’s childhood. Growing up in a creative family, they spent their childhood painting, knitting, sewing clothes and making jewellery with their mother, grandmother and brother. During these years, creating a clothing atelier became their dream. Øy was officially founded when the sisters moved to the island of Bali to create the first Øy collection. The fundament of their design process is creating conscious and creative quality pieces that are both timeless and versatile. Øy Atelier is their creative artist studio, the place they bring their visions to life. The name Øy Atelier echoes their roots, a creative design atelier inspired by tales of the north. The Øy designs are wearable art, crafted for you to care for and to cherish.
