Each Øy Atelier hat is handmade in Bali through a community-based production model that supports women artisans working from their homes. This approach allows them to care for their families while preserving heritage craft and contributing to local village life.
We use surplus deadstock cotton yarn to give new life to high-quality materials that would otherwise go to waste. Every colourway is intentionally small-batch, reflecting our commitment to ethical sourcing, circular design, and conscious production.
By wearing this hat, you support sustainable fashion, artisan craftsmanship, and the creative spirit of Bali—while contributing to a slower, more intentional way of living.

Eventyr means adventure in Norwegian—a word that captures the free-spirited essence of these sun hats.
The Eventyr Hat Collection is designed for ocean lovers, sun chasers, and seekers of slow adventure. It celebrates the beauty of movement, spontaneity, and coastal expression—with wide brims, bold colourways, and breathable cotton texture.
Each hat is hand-crocheted in Bali by women artisans using deadstock yarn and produced in limited small batches. From sea-washed blues and golden sands to earthy and coral-inspired tones, every piece reflects a timeless surf aesthetic with bohemian roots and intentional design.
Whether you’re chasing waves in Mentawai, longboarding in Byron Bay, browsing vintage markets in California, wandering the cliffs of Ericeira, or hiking the coastline of Lofoten—Eventyr is made for the moments in between: sunrise walks, market mornings, slow travel, and thoughtful gifting.

Øy Atelier is a family-run slow fashion brand rooted in Scandinavian design, island living, and the rhythm of the sea. Founded by Norwegian sisters Margrethe and Solveig Jacobsen Rosvoll—together with their mother, Anne—Øy reflects three generations of creativity, from their grandmother’s handcrafted traditions to their own surf-inspired designs.
We create timeless resortwear and accessories guided by what we feel, what we love, and how we live—shaped by our upbringing on Norwegian islands, our surf-shaped days in Bali, and the quiet joy of making something by hand. Each collection is an expression of coastal living and creative freedom, blending vintage silhouettes, Scandinavian minimalism, and a bohemian spirit shaped by the sea. Our pieces include soft cotton kimonos, sailor pants, bohemian wrap tops, and hand-crocheted surf hats—crafted slowly and sewn in small batches by women artisans in Seseh, using traditionally woven fabrics from Java.
Whether worn on coastal adventures or chosen as a meaningful gift, Øy pieces are made to be lived in, loved, and passed on. This is clothing and jewellery with soul—timeless, sun-warmed, and always connected to story. Designed for surfers, creatives, and coastal bohemians who dress with a quiet sense of freedom.
